WebFound it myself. No compression supported but still: bmp subtype rgb565. Encoding: convert input.png -define bmp:subtype=RGB565 output.bmp ffmpeg -i input.png -pix_fmt rgb565 output.bmp The former probably just shifts out extra bits: gradients look edgy. The latter probably does some processing on nearby pixels. Gradients look very good.
