DVT has an annual incidence of about 1–2 per 1000 people. Continuing or intrinsic risk factors include: A history of DVT. Cancer (known or undiagnosed). Age over 60 years. The thrombosis dealt with are: Cerebral sinus thrombosis, retinal vein thrombosis, upper extremity thrombosis, vena caval thrombosis, abdominal (splanchnic) vein thrombosis, genito-urinary thrombosis and superficial vein thrombosis.
