Ionic liquid-based oral drug delivery systems
WebLiquid self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery systems (L-SNEDDS) offer high potential in improving the dissolution and bioavailability of poorly-water soluble drugs (PWSDs). However, they have several stability limitations, which are mainly due to their liquid nature. WebFLB is a centrally acting drug that has a low oral bioavailability of 33% owing to its exposure to the hepatic first-pass effect, as well as its pH-dependent solubility, which could be an obstacle hindering the drug dissolution and absorption via mucosal barriers.
