Polymateria was founded in 2015 at Imperial College London by Jonathan Sieff and Lee Davy-Martin. Between 2016 and 2024, it was based at the Imperial White City Incubator, and since 2024 has been headquartered at the nearby Translation & Innovation Hub (I-HUB).
